Review for Kawasaki KLX150 Indonesia




KLX 150S is much awaited by Indonesian Trail Biker is not as great as expected. At least the results of the observation time we see KLX 150S that is displayed on the Malang Kawasaki dealer (21/4/2009).
KLX 150 is based from KLX 140, but not exacly the same with KLX 140 Japanese or American version, at least in terms of quality of goods. The exactly same sector is on the engine and suspension. at other side, the swing arm, rim, tire, and handle bar are different quality from KLX 140 USA version. If the Swing arm and Rim for KLX 140 USA version made from a strong lightweight alloy, the Indonesia KLX 150 version is made of iron.


Frame welding on Indonesia KLX 150 also look little rough, different to USA or Japan version. KLX 150 tires use brand local IRC, while the USA version use Dunlop offroad. KLX 150S is designed for dual purpose, while the USA KLX 140 version is pure offroad version.
KLX 150 headlamp also look saggy, too big and not match with the body, such as forced. It quiet same lookas KLX 450R headlamp model. But because the body KLX 150 is small, then the headlamp from KLX 450R feel less fit. Handle bar also still made of steel and without the bars. The body shape visible not quiet as trail bike as claimed for the adventurers.
KLX 150 rear wheel is 16 rim, while the front 19. Trail this seems appropriate for people who have a height of not more than 160 cm. Moreover, the motor will be visible to insignificance. in the other word the KLX 150 still looks a little smaller than the TS 125.

with all the specification reduction, it is reasonable if the KLX 150 price "only" around Rp 24 million. its far away from offroad USA / Japan version price on amount almost U.S. $ 3000 or around Rp 35 million. Seems that Kawasaki Indonesia try to press the cost of production, but with lower quality. With that price, KLX 150 expected more affordable for most Indonesian consumers, compared with his "brother" KLX 250S which not too spectacular in sales record.

With all of it's lack , KLX 150 deserves to be greeted warmly for trail biker. just need to prepare funding around Rp 10 million to upgrade KLX 150S became the offroad version with great perform in mud and dirt track. With the same engine and suspension from KLX 140, the KLX 150S became a great engine, so reliable in offroad terrain. Congratulations on the courage Indonesia Kawasaki trail Kawakasi klx 150s
